Introduction. Modern taekwondo is a relatively young sport, occupies special place in martial arts as an Olympic sport. Despite the fact that prevalence of growing Ukraine every year, order to spread this sport among various segments population, it necessary study its potential and main stages development. The aim characterize formation development based on analysis current versions, sporting achievements promising areas. Material methods. following methods were used research process: general scientific (logical, induction); synthesis methodological literature Internet sources; historical (retrospective) method. Results.
